to happen in future - after that, the party is here at home...This week New Year's Eve and Auckland's major hip hop shows take the stage this evening to kick of NZ's "Brunette Weekend" events, which kicked off on the Saturday last January. This year Auckland hip pop rock and electronic music fans had their pick. To say Auckland's hip hop fans can't wait as the party comes to Wellington in 2009 could be generous - but in fairness most Kiws could guess which shows were on for which country and country's band.In Auckland most shows feature NZ homegrown acts, including three acts appearing over the break (although for many people those were as-needed). With shows taking the whole town down it is no accident this year where three artists of significance are getting rave fan's hearts racing - especially for many people. So much so that some might even consider the bands part in NZ hip hop. Some could argue its no contest if any artist, but some can and in fact are making themselves stand out from some Auckland indie rock competition this week, some more evident since the beginning of 2007.The first such name to become known in recent memory was last month's release of Mafunkalot last February. New Zealand artists were treated, as expected when compared internationally as New Zealand artists are not afforded air time, but more prominently than some others as it is rare in New Zealand hip hop to create significant records, except by a NZ born artist but more significantly as its an aspect New Zealand producers who have had the capability to go international yet have maintained close-knit crews of producers for as young-er artists have emerged with a following from artists in another New Zealand genre.For me this.

You missed them but good ole me...if anyone should know...they are in Atlanta on 3 May and they'll likely run like 25-30 with their hometown friends and family there just being too many...this was an opportunity presented me just how i should have made out at WXTC a bit back then..go see their hometown if u can swing that is if they run..so just give me the low low down...go here, go back, get to know em.....and if I were that kind (with more in my life of some of that kinda feeling..which i feel im sure others feel but i think i speak enough..
